Developing the
State Homelessness Strategy

The Western Australian State Homelessness Strategy took ten months to develop, beginning with the establishment of the State Homelessness Taskforce in July 2001. The documents below show the development process:

Taskforce Members and Terms of Reference — In July 2001 the Government established the State Homelessness Taskforce

Consultation Questions — From July to December 2001 the Taskforce consulted with a wide range of people.

Taskforce Consultation Draft Report — In December 2001 the Taskforce produced a draft report for public consultation.

Taskforce Report to Government — On 31 January 2002 the State Homelessness Taskforce Reported to Government.

Government's Response to the Taskforce Report - in May 2002 the Government responded to the Taskforce report accepting the majority of recommendations and allocating $32 million over 4 years for new initiatives.
